Rest as Practice

Workshops and Coaching for individuals and groups

Relaxing into the body.

Resting into our minds.

Our simple presence becomes an act of profound generosity, to ourselves and to our precious world.

Far from being a passive escape, resting is a conscious revolutionary act of love that brings healing for ourselves and for our planet.

I am a passionate advocate of resting as deep practice. Resting and digesting. Time to catch up with ourselves, to process our life experience, to integrate the past, and make space for a different kind of future  - one that comes from a fresh response rather than a habitual compulsion that we may feel doomed to repeat.

The doorway to deep healing is through our very own bodies.

Our human bodies are the holders of all the information of our history and evolution. Whenever we connect into the body, we connect not only with the strength and resilience and healing capacity of life, but also the places where this has become blocked, distorted and frozen due to traumatic life experiences. By acknowledging the presence of these blocks and distortions, honouring their intelligence, and including them in our field of loving presence, these frozen layers can begin to melt, unlocking reservoirs of life energy, creativity and inspiration. A new way forward opens up, and we know the next step we need to take.

The symptoms of trauma that our modern culture displays include feelings of not enough/never enough - leading to rampant consumerism and resultant environmental and mental health crises, the feeling of not having enough time, the endless pursuit of productivity and the inability to simply BE. This has had disastrous consequences for the health of our planet and all its inhabitants.

I teach and offer trauma-informed embodiment practices, to honour and address the personal and collective trauma that all humans feel and experience. With these tools we can all discover how to BE more of ourselves, how to BECOME the full expression of our potential, and to feel deeply that we BELONG in this interconnected web of life.

By resting, we reclaim our dreamtime, our health, our creativity, our sensitivity, and our deepest humanity.

Embodiment is the foundation for healing. Without embodiment, we have no instrument to receive the world and to ground the energy that has lifted out in anxiety, fear and trauma. Our body is the instrument that allows the energy to return and become fertile soil for the future.

Rest well my friends.

The world needs more people who know the value of rest.
